ABOUT US

Yotes4Life - Non-Profit

Once a Yote. Always a Yote.

Yotes4Life was born from a simple belief:

Brotherhood does not end when football does.

For ten years, the Coyote Brotherhood served as a powerful connection point for former University of South Dakota football players — building community, supporting the program, and strengthening alumni relationships.

As the Brotherhood transitioned into a University structure, we recognized something important:

The University can do many things exceptionally well —
but some parts of the brotherhood are deeply personal and must remain relational.

Yotes4Life exists to carry forward those parts.

Why the Transition Happened

The Coyote Brotherhood grew into something strong and sustainable — strong enough for the University to steward and expand.

But along the way, certain initiatives emerged that were never about events, fundraising campaigns, or institutional programs. They were about:

  • Helping younger Yotes find their footing after football

  • Supporting families when a brother passed away

  • Honoring lives with memorial stones and personal outreach

  • Prayer during illness and hardship

These efforts required flexibility, discretion, and personal leadership outside of formal University structure.

Rather than let those initiatives fade, we created Yotes4Life — a separate, values-driven effort focused entirely on lifelong brotherhood care.

What Makes Yotes4Life Different

Yotes4Life is not a replacement for the Coyote Brotherhood.

It does not compete with the University.

It exists alongside it — quietly and purposefully.

The University focuses on:

  • Alumni engagement

  • Athletic support

  • Events and communications

Yotes4Life focuses on:

  • Showing up when it matters most

  • Family and legacy support

  • Career and life transition connections

  • Prayer and spiritual support

No spotlight.
No politics.
No agenda beyond care.

Our Commitment

We believe:

  • Every Yote matters

  • No family should feel forgotten

  • The hardest transition is often after the final snap

  • Brotherhood should be lifelong

Yotes4Life is intentionally simple.

We are not trying to scale nationally.
We are not trying to replace what already exists.

We are here to protect the soul of what it means to be a Yote.

A Personal Note from the Founder

After stepping aside from leading the Coyote Brotherhood, it became clear that while leadership roles change, responsibility to your teammates does not.

Yotes4Life is simply a continuation of that responsibility.

It is a promise that:

  • Names will be remembered

  • Families will be supported

  • Younger brothers will not walk alone

  • And faith, humility, and care will remain central

Because once you are a Yote — you are a Yote for life.
